Nā Mikimiki: Encouraging Mothers to Be Active

Nā Mikimiki, or "the active ones" in Hawaiian, is a project for mothers of infants between the ages of 2 and 12 months. This project is designed to specifically meet the needs of new momsNa Mikimiki:  Encouraging Mothers to Be Active who want to be more physically active, and are currently not. The program is recruiting mothers who had gestational diabetes in their last pregnancy. The project length is 18 months and includes 2 in-person visits to the Cancer Research Center’s office on Ala Moana Boulevard. Nā Mikimiki is a collaboration by the Prevention and Control Program of the CRCH, and Kaiser Permanente, with funding from the National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute.
